There are certainly some fantastic horror films which have been made in recent years, but to me, nothing can or ever will compare to the old Universal Monsters.
Despite being remade nearly every decade, eternal characters such as Lugosi's Dracula, Karloff's Frankenstein, and Chaney's Wolfman will always hold a thundering resonance. Modern special effects be damned -sometimes there's nothing spookier than grainy black & white film, a seething orchestra, and these amazing characters!
Currently obsessing over the "Classic Horror" section of Netflix!
