Halloween DIY: Ghostly Gallons

Halloween DIY: Ghostly (milk) Gallons!

 

What You'll Need:

a couple clean milk jugs (leave the caps on)

black marker

craft knife or scissors

battery operated tea lights or clear holiday lights

Instructions:

1) Draw a ghostly mouth and a spooky pair of eyes. Tip: keep the cap on the jug while you draw. It will keep you from smooshing the jug and help you draw more accurately. 

2) Remove the cap & cut a small hole in the back of the jug. The hole should be large enough to fit a battery operated tea light. If using holiday lights, the hole should be large enough to stuff a portion of a light string inside.

3) Arrange the jugs where you like and enjoy their ghostly glow! 

Total Cost: $0! 

This project is cheap, easy, and can be enjoyed by anyone! 

If you can't scare up a couple gallon jugs in your home try your local coffee shops. They have a surplus of empty jugs & I'm sure they would be willing to let you have them -good luck!

Happy First Day of Autumn!

Happy Autumn everybody! Like many of you, this is my favorite time of the year! 

Some things I <3 about Autumn:

1. Halloween!!
2. Pretty much everything about outside! The leaves changing colors, the breezes etc
3. Pumpkin flavored ALL THE THINGS!! My crutches limited me to picking up just one box of Pumpkin "Pop Tarts" @ Trader Joe's today. TRUST, when I get off these things next week I'm going back for the pancake mix, beer, scone mix, bread mix, pie pumpkins...
4. The smells! Sure, I'm in love with all the pumpkiny smelling things but I also really enjoy the smell of wood smoke as people light up their fireplaces and firepits. That smell, combined with a sight chill in the air, has got to be one of the best things in the world!
5. Hockey Season!

I know you're thinking that I'm officially the last person on the bandwagon but I assure you -there's a reason why it has taken me this long to catch up!

See, I have a thing about zombies.

They kinda sorta scare the crap outta me and make me want to barricade myself in the closet.

Give me a monster or slasher flick any day & it's whatever! However, once I hear those shuffling feet and those low groans...

See! Even thinking about it gave me a fright! Despite this, I found a way to power through the episodes and am now completely hooked! Sure, I'm having trouble sleeping at night but hey! -win some, lose some?

Thank goodness the new season doesn't start until October 13th -otherwise, I don't think I would ever get any homework done!
