The Myers House
I would like to introduce to you all the Mecca for all fans of the Halloween movies -the Myers House in Hillsborough NC!
This is an actual house, lived in by actual people that has been built as an exact replica (I don't know how they sleep! haha). Better still, the couple who owns the house decorates and opens it up every year around Halloween for visitors!
Though you can make an appointment any time to visit the house they do throw a HUGE bash every year. They host costume and pumpkin contests, screen the Halloween films, and give tours of the house.
Unfortunately (for me) this year's event takes place on the same night as my party! Oh, well... there's always next year? haha
However, if YOU would like to go see the Myers House for yourself I have provided the address and the times for their BIG BASH October 29th!
The Myers House NC: 3rd Annual Halloween Bash
Starts 6pm and goes until Midnight

Martha Stewart's Haunted House
Alright, I may be in the minority here but I love Martha Stewart. Sure she's a cold blooded, unapologetic bitch but that's kinda what I dig about her! haha
But really, when I think of Halloween crafting I always think of Martha. She has an amazing team and always comes up with things which are both beautiful and spooky.
Her new Halloween special comes on tonight @ 8pm (eastern) on the Hallmark channel and you can bet that I'll be watching!
For more deets, how-to's, and recipes visit her website Martha Stewart's Haunted House! And remember, it's a good thing! haha

Pumpkin Pie Shots
So you all know how much I love finding new Halloween/Fall seasonal drinks -well have I got a new one for you!
Oh Pumpkin Pie Shots -where have you been all my life?
I've been looking for a recipe like this for ages so I'm so grateful to my friend Emily for sharing this one with me!
I was actually surprised by how easy this recipe seems to be. It is rather rich, so I would limit myself to one but boy oh boy how good that one would be!
If I ever get a free moment this season I would love to give these a go! Ooh! Ooh! I bet I could stretch these out to Thanksgiving... haha

Circus Halloween Tent
Firstly, I wish to offer my apologies for not having been as active on the blog this season!
I have had the incredible fortune to be accepted into the graduate school of my choice... the only drawback of course being that I now have graduate level work.. on top of a job... and a boyfriend... and well, yeah you get the picture.
Anyway, today (whilst in the midst of a paper from anthropological HELL) I finally realized that my favorite holiday season of the year was passing me by!
Clearly something had to be done.
This something was the installation of my halloween circus tent! I've had the tent ready to go up for almost two weeks now -all I needed was the giant ladder and I was good to go!
Firstly, I am really pleased with my color choices. Mixing the patterned paper with the two solids really added visual interest. The overall look is very "Halloween fun" -something I'm really digging this year!
Secondly, this be turned into an AWESOME spider ceiling decoration if it were done in black!
Lastly, the whole project cost about eight dollars and it really makes an impact. Sure, it was on the labor intensive side but I think the time and money were well spent!
I'll post a little bit more about the actual construction of the tent later -I just wanted to let y'all know that I'm still alive and still working on the party!
